Amersham Auction Rooms sell goods upon instructions from a wide range of clients, including private individuals, collectors, professional advisors, dealers, gallery representatives, and corporate sources.
As the internet becomes more widely used, so does the globalisation of auctioneering services. Since gaining a reputation for being one of the busiest provincial auctioneers in the UK, it is now quite commonplace for the Auction Rooms to receive Sellers' instructions and/or Buyers' enquiries not only from European countries but also from other countries throughout the world.
Amersham Auction Rooms take a personal interest in the transactions for all their clients. The Company's experienced Valuers routinely travel throughout London, the Home Counties, South Midlands, the West Country and beyond and will always be happy to advise owners face-to-face, either at Amersham or when appropriate, on an owner's premises. Alternatively, if provided with suitable photographs, Valuers can often give initial advice by telephone, fax or e-mail.
For Sellers unfamiliar with the auction process, an Information Pack is available, which contains a brochure outlining what Auctioneers do and how they do it, together with an application form on how to consign goods for Auction and a pre-paid reply envelope.
The Auctions Rooms comprehensive Terms of Business, available elsewhere on this website, displayed within the Auction Rooms and also printed in each Auction Catalogue, have been designed to protect all the parties concerned. In the event of any doubt as to their interpretation, Sellers should contact a Director of Amersham Auction Rooms, who will be pleased to clarify any queries or misunderstandings before the Application to Consign Goods for Auction form is completed and submitted.
Before Auction, all goods are identified and separated for allocation to the most appropriate Auction catalogue, viz :-
