Antique/Collectable

It is not unusual for prospective Sellers of goods to be apprehensive of consigning them for sale by auction, particularly if it is the first time that such a service is to be used and the goods are of a particularly high value, or of sentimental worth.

All specialist Valuers at Amersham Auction Rooms have the skills to both appraise goods and to advise potential Sellers of their current market values. To assist intending Buyers, the Valuers will invariably advise the Seller that agreed lots should be offered with published price estimates attached and/or be subject to an undisclosed reserve price. This advice will ensure that goods will not be sold below the minimum price expected by the Seller.

Free-of-Charge Appraisals

Verbal appraisals of items, before being consigned for Auction, are provided free of charge :-

Where practicable to do so :-

Search & Alert

Under this system Buyers may register their specific areas of interest with the Auction Rooms. They will then be advised whenever items matching their requirements are registered for a forthcoming Auction. By automatically alerting prospective Buyers of the availability of specific items, this service increases the Seller’s possibilities of achieving the true value.

What is a pre-auction estimate?

The Auctioneers invariably provide pre-auction estimates for the information of prospective buyers. These are very much a matter of opinion and their accuracy can in no way be guaranteed and you are encouraged to make your own assessments of worth.
